Hey, dad, do you think that you could post your famous ginger snap cookies recipe? I have been craving them- but I can't find the recipe:o

PS Is THIS the year that you're going deer hunting again?! ;)

Old-fashioned Ginger Cookies

3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses, light or dark
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground ginger
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Cream butter, add sugar gradually. Beat until fluffy. Add egg and molasses, blend. Stir or sift together flour, soda, salt and spices. Stir into dough. Roll dough into balls about the size of walnuts, then roll in granulated sugar. Place on ungreased baking sheet 1 1/2" apart. Bake at 350° for eight to 10 minutes or until cookies have melted and puffed. For crisper cookies, bake until cookies flatten down. Makes five dozen. We almost always double or triple the recipe. After rolling them in the sugar. You can place them on a tray and freeze them and then put in a bag to bake at a later date. It is important that if you make more than one batch, you put a dozen on a plate and take to a neighbor.
